My First Stitch Fix Maternity Try On and Review

*This post contains affiliate links and my Stitch Fix referral link (when you sign up from my link and get your fix, I get a credit at no cost to you).

This happened so quickly.  My first Stitch Fix box arrived this past Friday!  I really like the concept of the service.  Being able to try on clothes in the comfort of your own home and return them is just so easy peasy.  It’s a legit reason to play dress-up, not that I need one.  You don’t have to have an automatically monthly shipment or fee if you don’t want.  In fact, I scheduled my next Fix to arrive in January after I have the baby.

I wanted to give you a glimpse of the packaging.  You get styling cards for inspiration, which I actually enjoyed looking over.

My stylist, Ciara left a detailed note that I appreciated and she definitely got it right that I love stripes – thanks to my Style board on Pinterest.  I didn’t go balls out styling my looks right out of the box like I’ve seen some bloggers do. For me, this was about trying the pieces on and seeing how they work and fit for me.

The first item I tried on from my Stitch Fix box was this Loveappella Agnes Lace Sleeve Maternity Top.

I loved the style and was excited to try it on.  Unfortunately, while I like a snug fit, it just wasn’t flattering on my big belly.  The leggings I’m wearing from Hue, are not maternity so maybe they affected how bulbous the belly looked but still, I will be returning the top.  Super cute though.  BTDubs, the booties were featured in my unboxing video here and you can find them for yourself here in Black or Rust and here in Fawn.  I absolutely love them.

Next up was this cozy Drape Cardigan from MTLA.

The color was great.  Bad timing, however because I just bought this sweater from Nordstrom Rack (in burgundy).  The one above wasn’t my fave style anyway.  It was a bit boxy, still cute and I liked the pockets but just not right for me to keep.

This top was the Laila Jayde Naten Contrast Neckline Maternity Knit Top.  I loved it.  It was a high-quality knit and just nice and casually cute.  Fit great.  I liked the deep magenta on the neckline.  I kept this and am wearing it to work!

Here I am wearing the last two pieces, a Renee C Katarina Knit Swing Dress and the Kiley Maternity Ankle Zip Legging from Rune.  I liked the dress in theory.  The side inset with the vertical stripe is a cute detail.  I’m not afraid to wear green and actually really like it b/c it brings out my eyes.  But I wish it was a v-neck and it just didn’t scream keeper so ultimately I returned.  I kept the leggings.  They are fantastic.  Super stretchy but still seem to hold me in.  They were not just a plain cotton legging and the gold ankle zip detail is a cute detail (see below).  I’m wearing them with my new Tory Burch Ashlynn Riding Boots that I bought at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

So, what’s my verdict?  I think Stitch Fix is great, especially if time is money for you, like it is for me.  This is not budget friendly although I wouldn’t say the pieces were expensive.  My Fix ranged between $40 to $70 and when you already pay $20, which is credited, it doesn’t seem bad.  Every item I received was really good quality, which is also important to me.  I won’t be receiving another Maternity Fix because the price point is a bit high for such temporary clothing.  It was fun to try the clothing on and snap some pics for the blog.  I think my stylist did a great job.
If you’re interested in trying the service out, click here to create your profile and get started.  Like I said, it’s fun and if nothing else, you’re only out $20 if you get your fist fix and don’t keep anything.  Who else only gets charged $20 for a personal styling session?  No one , that’s who!
