Elevate a Super Casual Outfit

I have two simple tips for you to elevate a casual outfit.
#1) Carry a structured tote like this one from Rebecca Minkoff.  Instant chic.  By the way, this bag is on sale at Last Call!!
#2) Wear great shoes.  I happened to style this outfit with some fun hot pink ballet flats.  I really love these shoes and they are so comfortable that they really went well with my casual jeggings (my exact pair are sold out but these are great) and top (similar here).

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

I wear a lot of black and grey but I try to incorporate color some where.  Shoes are the perfect way to do that.  Don’t be scared to express yourself with a colorful pair of shoes!
How do you try to elevate your casual clothing?  I’d love to know if you rock fancy handbags or shoes or even wear statement jewelry.

  1. I seriously LOVE these flats! They are so bright and colorful not to mention photogenic! You know I am all black clothing kinda girl but these would be the perfect pop of color to add!

    And I elevate with my statement jewelry! Easy way for me to make a plain tee look dressy in a snap!

    1. Thanks – I need to take my own advice and yours and wear more jewelry especially to make a statement when I'm otherwise casual!

  2. I've been trying to pair metallic jewelry with my metallic silver gladiator shoes! I've just kind of mixed and matched golds, silvers, and rose golds together into a mish-mash of metallics when I want to make a statement. Your pink flats are cute, too! I love that handbag, though!
