Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 Insights & Giveaway {Closed}

For the past couple of years, I’ve blogged about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale mainly because I’m a loyal customer (I also used to work at Nordstrom back in the day) and I love a good bargain.  However, and I’m ashamed to admit, I never actually knew what it was really about until this year.  Now, I’m here to share with you my new found knowledge in the hopes your potential NSale shopping experience is that much better.  I know mine will be this year. 


So the gist of this awesome once a year sale is that Nordstrom releases new Fall merchandise at unreal sale prices.  It’s new arrivals on sale.  That never happens!  Well, I guess it does with the NSale but who knew!  This makes so much sense to me now because I’ve purchased boots from the last two sales.  Duh Camille.  I mean, duh.  I will use the Sale this year to freshen my wardrobe with trendier Fall pieces and pick up some things for all three of my boys (you know, the hubs, the kid and the baby) and possibly get some Christmas shopping in!  Cardholders get Early Access for about a week before the sale goes public.  I’m stoked that I’m a cardholder and will be shopping on day 1 of Early Access, which is July 13th.  I have marked my calendar in pen and saved an appointment in my Google calendar.  It’s that serious guys.

Nordstrom also builds momentum for the sale as it is for a limited time and prices go up to their regular price after the sale.  Quantities can be limited and popular products do sell out.  Luckily, Nordies is good about restocking items during the sale but you have to be on the lookout.  Hey, sometimes shopping really is a sport and you need vision, stamina and a game plan!  
With that in mind, here are my tips to help you develop a game plan for the sale.  
1) Remember these dates:  July 13 – 20 ~ Early Access; July 21 ~ Public access; Aug 6 ~ Last day of the sale!

2) If you’re cool with it, become a Nordstrom cardholder.  It has it’s perks including the aforementioned Anniversary Sale Early Access.  Click here for more info on the goodies you get a cardholder.

3) If you’re not cool with getting the credit card, at least sign up for Nordstrom Rewards.  It’s free and you don’t have to have a credit card.

4) Browse the Anniversary Sale Catalog to get a feel for what you may want to keep your eyes on. 

5) If you’re shopping online like me (it’s the only way I shop these days), then make sure to check for new merch on the regular.  Nordstrom will add new products to the sale everyday.  It’s how they keep it fresh for us.

6) Don’t forget about Nordstrom‘s great service, free shipping and free returns when you’re debating on what to buy.  It’s another reason why I am a loyal customer.

Those are my quick tips for you.  Also, I wanted to remind you of you my boots from the Sale last year and 2015.  I know sometimes it’s hard to buy out of season for some people but it really is a great way to save money.  Just sayin’!

boots fit great and were so comfortable.  They are from the 2015 Anniversary Sale and are sold out as well.  Maybe Nordstrom will offer them again during this year’s sales.

  5. I love shopping in Nordstrom, they have wide range of products to choose from! Nordstrom sale is something I'd participate in.

  6. I'm not big on getting store based credit cards, but I LOVE point / loyalty cards! Thank goodness for some awesome apps to hold all of them in one place, as even a special card wallet wouldn't hold them all. And I surely got my Nordstrom card as soon as they opened in my area two years ago!
