Today is my birthday!
lips: Covergirl Divine
I love birthdays no matter how old I get (so far), ha! I have to say however, that it can be a time of reflection and self-assessment. So with my birthday this year, I’m jumping on the “post your goals on the blog” bandwagon, mainly for accountability. It is written and shared. This helps me be more accountable to myself and accountable to my readers. I’m just sharing a short list of 5 goals for now.
1) Start working from home/blogging full-time by the end of the year.
This is a biggie but I really want to make this happen. I feel my life just being wasted working away from home.. I want time to to be a better wife and mother and I personally can’t do that while working full-time outside of the home. Kudos to those moms who can but I’m just not here for it anymore. I miss my kiddos. Dax is starting Kindergarten and I want to be able to pick him up from school and help him with homework. I’m just ready for a change.
2) Lose 40 pounds.
I don’t really have a time frame for this one but it’s the full comprehensive amount I need to lose. How about I shoot for losing 20 by the end off the year? I think that’s attainable and then I can focus on losing the next 20.
3) Organize my closet.
My closet is a mess. My shoes are fairly organized and I’ve started to replace all my hangers with these. They really do save space and look good. I have a lot to do but feel an organized closet will help my mental clarity.
4) Book our 10th Anniversary vacation.
We are so indecisive. Where are we going?? Our Anniversary is in February so we need to hur’ up!
5) Get more sleep.
I am so tired. I need to go to bed earlier but I always have so much to do. Briggs is so hit or miss with sleeping in his crib and it’s so exhausting. Did I mention I’m tired? And I know no one cares when a mom says she’s tired but damnit, I’m tired!
Now that I got that off my chest, I wanted to share a recent outfit. This sweater I bought from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has already been on heavy rotation. It’s really just a knit pullover but chunky textured knits read sweater to me. This one is so lightweight it’s perfect for dealing with a cold office and warmer temps outside. It has also inspired me to have a signature color this year which is what I call ” burnt gold” or the color of this sweater!
I love, love, love how this orchid color plays against the “burnt gold”! I may need a full size handbag in this color. This particular color is no longer available but other great colors are here. A similar style is linked below.
Let’s get back to talking about my birthday!
