The Ralph Lauren Collection & Purple Label Fall Winter 2022 show was by far the best show of the season. It has been a hot minute since I’ve done a show write-up but I felt absolutely compelled to share this masterful collection.

The venue and seating arrangements were unique and paid homage to fashion shows of yesteryear where the customers aka guests were seated on couches with all the elbow room one could ask for. The music, oh the music… when the second song came on at the 2:40 mark, I was transported to one of those cozy white benches in that very room with the glossiest of black floors. It’s “Lover, Will You Lead Me?” by David Ramirez, by the way and it’s such a sexy, chill banger!

The Looks

As for why we’re all here – the clothes – from the very first look to walk, featuring Gigi Hadid as the model, I was intrigued.

The monogram intarsia sweater and slim black trousers gave us that full on American easy elegance we expect from Mr. Lauren but the styling and accessories elevated it beyond just a casual outfit. I would easily wear this look to a day in the office and not feel under or over dressed.

Now, can we speak on the shoes? Shoes are my love language and I am in love again, friends. I must own a pair of those modernized spectator pumps.

The audacity to have a man look this dapper and still masculine in the year 2022, is off the charts. Mr. Lauren’s taste level and style is truly insane, in the best way imaginable as far as fashion is concerned.

And what a treat to see some OGs of the runway like Shalom, Laetitia Casta, and Tyson Beckford.

More to Love

Here are some of the other looks that stood out to me. The accessories were top tier. They featured cowboy hats, fedoras, structure oversized totes and belts made to snatch that waist right up. I also really loved the classic fair isle sweaters, done in a very modern way, one as an evening look and others with sequins. All images from Vogue, see more here.
