A Perfect Midsize Dress

Perfect Midsize Dress

If you are a gal into fashion, you are shopping for dresses this time of year. Lots of us have graduations and parties to attend, it’s almost wedding season, and some of us just like the way we move in a shorter dress! Lucky for you, I found the perfect midsize dress for you if you have a thicker waist and prefer to cover your arms, like I do.

I’ve seen some good Target hauls on YouTube lately (like this one), so I decided to do my own haul, which you can see here.

One of my favorite pieces from my little shopping spree was this Balloon Long Sleeve Mini A-Line Dress. It is so flattering and easy to wear. I bought an XL as I’ve gained some lovely perimenopausal weight lately and am in between a Large and XL in most brands right now. Surprisingly, the XL was a little big.

This was surprising because my history with Target brands is that they always ran a little snug. However, lately I find that things are running true to size or even a bit roomier. Perhaps they are embracing vanity sizing with their measurements. Not sure but I’m here for it!

I have a short, thick waist and found the cut outs to be most flattering for me.

They were elasticized so the fit was great. No bulges or tightness. Again, I think a large would work better so keep that in mind.

I styled the dress with platform wedge sandals and a black crossbody, which I’ve had for years. Although no longer available (purchased from Nordstrom during an Anniversary Sale a few years back), I highly recommend you invest in a small to medium sized black leather crossbody bag. It is indispensable especially for active moms that need their hands!

I digress, back to the dress. It is available in three other color ways but of course the black floral was my choice. I wear a lot of black, all year round but the floral print does give a more springtime feel for this dress. As a true midsize woman, I appreciate the easy fit and special details of this dress. Highly recommend!!
