A lot of people are still self-isolating and staying home as much as possible (my family included). I don’t feel like it’s living in fear – I mean, I make sure I have a 401k so I can retire comfortably, I wear my seat belt 100% of the time, and I pray before I fly in an airplane, ha! Just in case and just to be smart. So if you are still living the indoorsy type life for a while longer, I compiled some Cozy Classics for your Quarantine to help you deal with the stress of being at home. All. The. Time!
I know the title of the image above is a bit dramatic but I’m a bit dramatic. It’s #onbrand. Now here’s the rundown on these Classic Comforts from top left, clockwise:
Slim-Fit Rib-Knit Tank
It’s no secret that I love Old Navy and these Rib-Knit tanks (also have a scoop neck version here) are THE best. The fabric is nice and thick and high-quality for such an inexpensive tank.
Split-Neck Slub-Knit Tee
Just because you’re inside most of the time doesn’t mean what you wear has to be drab and boring. Inject some color into your cozy wardrobe with a comfy tee like this. Lots of other colors to choose from as well.
Cozy Long Sleeve Sweatshirt
I get cold in my house – central A/C in TX y’all – and I need an extra layer sometimes. I love this hi-low hem sweatshirt.
Cozy Wide Leg Lounge Pants
I have these in gold from last year and I love these pants. They are super long which is great for me because I have super long legs and they fit and feel great. I want this marled gray so bad! Hopefully Target continues to stock these in different colors for the next few seasons.
The Perform Legging
I love Everlane for nicer clothing at a reasonable price. It’s not inexpensive but doable for me when I prefer quality. I try to limit my fast fashion consumption. The copper color of these leggings won me over.
Detoxifying Black Peel Off Face Mask
What’s more comforting than a little self-care? What’s self-care without a face mask? A peel-off mask such as this, pretty much forces you to chill while it dries.
Cloche Glass Jar Candle Cashmere Vanilla
Candles are synonymous with comfort and I would argue so is the scent of vanilla. I love the fancy cloched version of this. It’s like diptyque without the high price.
Bombas Multicolor Ankle Socks
I love wearing cozy socks around the house (I just can’t sleep in them) but weird quirks aside, Bombas will donate a pair of socks for every pair purchased. Do good in the time of Corona!
Fleece Beach Shorts
I live in shorts (and leggings) around my house, especially in the summer. The soft fleece shorts are so fun and a great comfy cut.
Scoop Neck Midi Tank Dress
I have this dress – it’s only $20!! – and I wear it often around the house. It’s not tight at all, I feel very comfortable wearing it with my mommy tummy, and it’s very comfy and cool for walks outside as well.
Linen-blend Jersey Midi T-shirt Dress
Another dress – yes! A shift dress is so flattering (see above for mommy tummy reference) and I love this grey linen version. This would go with any mask, fashion or surgical and look great.
adidas 3-Stripes Logo Leggings
That logo – those stripes! Sold. Plus, all day I dream about… just kidding. Leggings are a staple for me. These sportier ones will take you from errands (if you dare) to a workout (at home, like moi).
I hope this little shopping post and collage gives you a respite from the seriousness we are all dealing with. We all need a break. I don’t watch the news on TV so I practice what I preach. We’re going through some deep stuff right now. I think people are very uncomfortable with the uncomfortability of their lives. We’ve been so coddled in America for so long. Bad things happen, yes, but collectively, America has been spared from dealing with horrors that other countries often do.
In these times, I say take the advice of Gandolf as written by J.R.R. Tolkien from The Fellowship of The Ring:
“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
