Baby Boy Nautical Baby Shower Theme

My friend, Joy, is having her first child, a sweet little boy in December and I was so excited to host her baby shower at my house.  She wanted a Nautical Baby Shower Theme.

Now, my home is so far from anything nautical.  I have no blue or red except for Dax’s room upstairs and my beachy, rustic touches are few and far between.  However, I was up to the task.  Here are some of the touches that made her day special (I hope)!

Food and Games

I had guests play “Sink or Swim” which was set up on the entryway table.  It was a nice change to the typical Don’t Say Baby with clothespins game.

Joy’s mother made these cream cheese mints and I tell you – I had to muster up the restraint of Gandhi to stop eating them.  They are so good.

Centerpiece was hydrangeas and baby’s breath.  This combination of flowers smells so good.  The food was simple and mostly homemade.  We had bacon ranch dip, mini bowtie pasta salad, beef and brie crostini, mini lemon squares and the aforementioned, cream cheese mints.

This game was too funny!  No one had all the answers.  I did not think it would be that hard.  Mom-to-be just had no clue on this game which was a hoot!  BTDubs – answers were: Teether, Yogurt Pouch, Lotion, Eucerin (or Eczema Cream), and Rattle.

Joy found this recipe for Ocean Water Punch.  So simple to make.

A very homemade Raspberry Filled Devil’s Food Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting.  So much yum!

Mommy-to-be cutting her cake!

How cute are these favors Joy had for everyone?

Nautical Baby Shower Decor

I found a lot of nautical baby shower theme items on Amazon and also Target (like the faux greenery on entry table).  I was on a budget (aren’t we all?) and I’m happy with not spending too much but being able to really solidify the look for her.  Parties are my fave (see here and here)!!  It was such a fun day and worth any stress involved in the planning!

Joy, I am so happy for you and your wonderful new family, home and life!!  Wishing you many blessings for the years to come!!
