How I Spent My Dallas Daycation

My dear friend and podcast partner in crime visited from San Francisco yesterday. We are both fully vaccinated and ready to get out in the world again so we planned a meetup while she had a layover. She stayed at the Texican Court Hotel in Irving and I got to enjoy the day with her. Read on to see how I spent my Dallas Daycation.

What exactly is a daycation? Well, according to me (lol) a daycation is a full day away from home at a local hotel or pool cabana but not an overnight stay (read about my Fort Worth Staycation here).

Plan a Dallas Daycation - Salt Tequila Bar

An integral part of any good Dallas Daycation is partaking in “the drank”. The Texican Court has a great little tequila bar called Salt. It offers great ambiance and even better drinks!

Diablo Margarita Salt Tequila Bar

Above is the Diablo Margarita. It consists of El Jimador Silver Tequila, Muddled Fresh JalapeƱo,Lime Juice, Triple Sec Orange Liqueur. Our bartender and Tequila expert, Reynaldo, made mine extra spicy. It was fire, indeed!

Brisket Nachos at the Texican Dallas Daycation

I like to eat so I ordered the brisket nachos and they were delicious. My only complaint was I wish they had more queso. I love cheese, what can I say?!

How cute is the SMEG refrigerator in the room? So bright and fun!

And inside the SMEG was even more fun. I mean, look at that “mini bar”. It was so well stocked and had some thoughtful touches for sure.

The weather did not permit us to take a dip in the pool or enjoy too much outside but I will definitely be back to this property. It is laid back but not lacking in that specific boutique hotel vibe I just love.

The Texican would be so great for a smallish wedding. I would 100% get married here – you know, again or vow renewal or some such event. You know what I mean!

Make sure to come back next week as I recap my next local adventure in Irving again!
